The Loblolly Pine is a medium to large tree that self-prunes well and develops a straight trunk.
The flowers of the male trees are long cylindrical red to yellow, and bloom in clusters at the branch tips.
The female’s flower are yellow to purple.
This evergreen’s Pine Cones grow to roughly the size of a potato, 3 to 6 inches long and mature from September to October. Arkansas celebrates Arbor Day the third Monday in March.
