Kentucky Cream Cheese Pound Cake Recipe
1 pkg butter recipe cake mix
8 oz cream cheese, room temperature, cubed
4 large eggs
1/2 C water
1/2 C sugar
1/2 C oil
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp pure almond extract
pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
Mix all ingredients together well.
Pour into greased 10-inch tube or bundt pan, tube pan works best.
Bake at 350 degrees about 40 – 45 minutes.
Cake should be a golden brown and springs back easily when lightly pressed with your finger.
Cool about 20 minutes before handling.
Invert onto cake platter. This cake is very rich and scrumptous without a traditional icing.
baking variations:
-use canola oil or veg oil or
substitute applesauce instead of oil, use same amount.
-1 pkg yellow cake mix
topping ideas:
-make a powder sugar glaze
-top with your favorite berries
-whipped cream
-toasted almonds
-serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream
-after cooling completely, sprinkle with a little powdered sugar
