Country Roads

Country Roads

How lovely is a country road
With Shady trees that line the way,
Where wildflowers lend a special grace
Of beauty to an autumn day

How friendly is a country road
Where those who chance to pass our way
Are quick to give a bright “hello”
Which adds a niceness to our day.

How peaceful is a country road
Awinding ’round a dappled hill;
Where in the stillness one can hear
The sweetness of the bluebird’s trill.
