Blue Spruces are evergreens, and are medium to large trees with pyramidal form.
Their leaves are stiff, growing from 3/4 to 1 1/4 inch long, and are a yellow-green to bluish or white.The needles are very sharp and are borne on woody pegs.
On more mature trees, the branches appear layered. Gorgeous !
The Blue Spruce is the state tree for Utah and Colorado. Utah celebrates Arbor day the last Friday in April.
